Hi guys and gals, Yesterday I joined in the fun at Camden Yards in Baltimore. Rob Jones a US Marine who met with an IED in Afghanistan and lost his legs. I say him on television at the inception of his idea to run 31 Marathons in 31 days. Yes, you heard right. 26.2 miles each and every day for 31 days.
He completed the journey TODAY IN WASHINGTON DC. Here’s a few images I put together from yesterday in Baltimore. Watch.
Isn’t that awesome. Mike, my son, completed his first marathon with Rob today. He just texted me.
“26.2 miles. I’ve run a marathon.”
My reply, “WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SO PROUD.”
Of course, this feat of endurance was not without travail. In Nashville it was raining terribly, and no one showed up to support. So Rob rain that day alone. Can you imagine?
Once he fell and hurt his back. Did that stop him?
There is a clip of a video when he was bandaged up with tubes in his nose. He says,”First thing we have to do is make a plan.”
He skipped the boo hoo part and just got right to work. He is running to celebrate veterans, to raise money for good charities and to remind people that Veterans are not forgotten. It was pretty awesome to participate and hand out cups of water and power bars to participants.
Please go to www.RobJonesJourney.com and buy a tee-shirt or donate straight. He’s a good guy and like all who serve.
I learned from Simon Sinek who teaches, having learned from the Marines, If you take care of the guy to the left of you and the person to the right of you, you’ve done what needs to be done and can rest assured that this is replicated through the company.
Keep after it Rob! So proud!
