Bad things happen. Then, good things may come from it. We were reminded of this just this week with the Boston Red Sox win of the World Series. David Ortiz hands down won the MVP, batting .688 in the series; he held up the trophy and said, “This is for you Boston. You deserve it.”
David Ortiz, in April, just after the Boston Marathon Bombing was on TV with these famous, galvanizing words, “This is our f***ing city.” It was not vulgar. It was pure emotion and that led to “Boston Strong.”
Nothing was more gripping than before game six, a group of survivor amputees marched onto the field, and sang the “Stars Spangled Banner.” The energy created was more than enough to propel the Red Sox to a quick conclusion to the series, despite those awful beards!
Now, in the face of catastrophe, it’s important, really important that first responders know who you are. What if you are unconscious? If you have this card printed and filled in, then emergency personnel will know who you are, where you live and who to contact on your behalf.
It doesn’t have to be a bombing.
A couple of weeks ago, my daughter hydroplaned off the road in a squall rainstorm. She hit a guardrail and totaled her car. She was okay. But this type of thing happens. Unfortunately, it does. Print the card. Fill it in. Give one to each of your family members.
