It’s not the most you can do, it’s the least

The question came in or was put to me, are taking your supplements the most I can do?

Absolutely not!
It’s the least you can do.

We have all been given a gift. It’s the gift of life, the gift of breath. The gift of landing up on this earth.

Some people when they get a gift, they toss it into the trash can. Or they ignore the gift given and act like they earned it or deserved it.

Not that I want to get philosophical on you, I am just saying to think it over.

Since we’ve had our bodies since the day of conception, we may tend to take it for granted. That is until something goes wrong, then we begin to complain about that back pain or achy joints.

If you get a surprise gift on your birthday, do you thank the person who gave it?

Most of us would show some level of appreciation.

The law of reciprocity is very true and very real and self-evident in many ways.

I walk a lot. There is a road that has a lot of foot traffic on it near my house. It’s kind of a boardwalk of sorts without the boards. Not many cars and there are fox dens on the other side of the railroad tracks, and lots of deer grazing in the front and back yards of the houses along the street.

Here’s what I noticed recently. I suppose it happens with women too but for men, I noticed, it’s very hard not to acknowledge another man walking the opposite way. It might be a small hand gesture of acknowledgment or it might be a slight bob of the head.

If I initiate the gesture, I get 100% response in a like gesture. If the other party initiates I acknowledge in an almost subconscious manner. It’s part of human nature. Let me put it this way, it’s nearly impossible not to.

Shaking hands pre-covid is an age old custom that grew out of the very olden days, when we were showing the other, “I have no weapon, I am your friend.”  In India, there is a greeting of your two hands palms together in a universal greeting of Namaste usually with a bow of the head to the other person.

Let’s be real with our bodies. We have so much going on, with over a million simultaneous transactions going on every second. We are busy people. And everything works well, until it doesn’t. Then a crisis ensues. Back pain! Headache! Panic Attack! All very common complaints in our society. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Preventative wellness teaches us that we can head off trouble by living well. Here’s the formula:

Think right. Live right. Sleep right. Eat right.

  • Think right. Have a good attitude about your life and who you are.
  • Live right. Do unto others as you would have them to unto you. Keep friendly, close relationships with family and friends. It’s easy to get isolated with the current societal messy mess. Don’t let it happen to you.
  • Sleep right. Get real rest every night. Do not let the sun go down upon your wrath. If you are upset, make sure you works things out with the person you are mad at before bedding down for the night.
  • Eat right. Get away from synthetic laboratory created junk that imitates food, using sugar or the wrong kinds of fat *trans fats* to make you eat more but never really satiates.
Exercise right. You can safely go for a walk every day at the minimum. And of course, you can use our supplements to make up any lack in the diet. I currently take a lot of supplements due to the pandemic and familial genetic disease that would like to win the day. I won’t let that happen. These 5 rules are really one thing and one thing only. It’s personal responsibility or in other words, Self Care.

There is no doctor who can do these things for you. It’s really up to you.

Lastly, be happy. Fill up your heart with joy, peace, happiness and love. You can do that before you get out of bed in the morning. It’s a commitment I make every morning. I am interested in those waking moments to see how long it takes me to remember the good things and my first affirmation of the day is, “I love my life.” and I mean it, even if I don’t always feel it.
