Accountability Can Make a Difference…
Today’s Lesson: Accountability makes things happen.
If you really want to get something done, it’s a great idea to choose an accountability partner. In corporate, there is always someone to report to. Even the CEO reports to the board. The entire company reports to the stockholders.
In everyday life. we have family members and spouses. In small business, we have colleagues and friends. Whether you want to learn a new skill, change a habit, improve your game, by nominating an accountability partner, you can make it easier on yourself to reach your goal.
Why? Once you make a public declaration that this is your intention, your accountability partner is “authorized” to encourage you and check in on you. Having someone to answer to creates great motivation not to let your partner down. Some even put “consequences” into place. If you fail to meet your daily objective (study for an hour, go to the gym, etc) then you donate $5 or $10 to your favorite charity.
These became psychological aids to get to where you really want to be. I made a public declaration to post everyday for 90 days. Today is Day 4. You are my accountability partner.
Hope this helps…
